Chemical Hygiene Plan
Cal Lutheran’s Chemical Hygiene Plan outlines safe practices for working with chemicals in laboratories. It includes administrative requirements, roles and responsibilities, general safety precautions, and procedures for identifying hazards and minimizing risks related to the use, handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
The Chemical Hygiene Plan applies to all laboratories that use, store, or handle potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as to all personnel working in these spaces. The Chemical Hygiene Officer reviews the plan at least annually to assess its effectiveness and make updates as needed. Everyone working in a laboratory should be familiar with the plan’s contents and follow its guidance to ensure a safe laboratory environment.
