A recurring theme throughout this program was the cycle of being introduced to a concept that I’m convinced I’ll never understand; spending a couple of frantic days reading and studying, and then suddenly understanding the concept. This program has taught me how to take on challenges and wrestle with them until they’re no longer challenges.

I entered the program looking to switch to a more technical career. I chose California Lutheran University’s program because I wanted a dense and application-focused program. The program met and exceeded my expectations, with bright faculty and a curriculum focused on preparing students for the job market.

The Cal Lutheran Program is one of the best I have come across. I could finish the program in 2 years while working full time. It equipped me with the required knowledge and application of concepts to real world problems, helping me become a data scientist.

At Spotify, my team and I forecast and run regressions on just about everything. The insights have shaped both the directions of the customer service department and provided guidance for other teams with respect to campaign management. My degree allows me to work with my team on equal footing and have a strong background when presenting results to leadership.

A common complaint from employers is a lack of real-world experience. The program coursework is project and results oriented. This, and the opportunity to work at the Center for Economic Research and Forecasting (CERF) ... offers much more than just theory. Without the experience of really applying the material while still in school, I wouldn’t have had the options available to me afterwards. This program sets you apart.

Going into the interview process, I was already well-versed in EVIEWS, the newest software IHS was using. Some older software is no longer used in the field. Training with the most up-to-date technology gives you a huge advantage over other degree programs.
