Areas of expertise: 40 years in K-12 education and a successful superintendent for 14 years. Currently serves as a full time educator at Cal Lutheran University, authored four books and consults across the nation.

About
Trudy T. Arriaga, Ed.D. began her career as a bilingual paraeducator and enjoyed 40 years of service in education as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, and superintendent. She served the Ventura Unified School District for 14 years as the first female superintendent. Dr. Arriaga retired as superintendent in July 2015 and was honored by the naming of the VUSD District Office, The VUSD Trudy Tuttle Arriaga Education Service Center. She is currently on the CLU faculty as the Distinguished Educator for Educational Leadership and Partnerships. She shares her time with the Graduate School of Education and the President's Office.
Education
Dr. Arriaga received a B.A. from San Diego State University in Communicative Disorders. She earned a Communication Handicapped Specialist Credential and a Spanish Bilinugal Cross Cultural Multiple Subject Credential from San Diego State University. Dr. Arriaga received a M.A. degree from Cal State University at Northridge in Educational Administration and Supervision with an Administrative Services Credential. In 1992, Dr. Arriaga earned an Ed.D. in Educxational Policy, Planning and Administration from the University of Southern California.
Expertise
Dr. Arriaga speaks and presents across the nation to assist educational institutions and organizations align their stated values with the actions of the organiation. She delivers keynote speeches, workshops, leadership and equity institutes, and professional development with an emphasis in equitable leadership and learning.
Dr. Arriaga has published numerous articles and four books:
