We believe finances should not be a barrier to investing in your future, and we're committed to making your education as affordable as possible. Cal Lutheran offers a full range of scholarships, financial aid and financing options to families of all income levels. Read this guide to understand the financial aid process and what you need to do.

Please be advised that our method of communicating with students is through your CalLutheran.edu email address assigned to you after your admission to Cal Lutheran. Make sure to frequently check this email address or forward it to another email account in order to receive important information in a timely manner, including any changes made to your Financial Aid Offer.

 


Maximize Your Financial Aid Eligibility

  1. File your FAFSA or CADAA (California Dream Act Application)

    Complete your FAFSA at studentaid.gov or CADAA at dream.csac.ca.gov as soon as possible. Please be sure to include Cal Lutheran's school code (001133). International students can submit our International Application for Financial Aid.

  2. Cal Grants

    If you are a California Resident, visit WebGrants4Students to check on the status of your Cal Grant application.

  3. Submit Additional Documents (if requested)

    If you receive a request for any documents or more information, please respond promptly with the requested information. Review outstanding documents through Financial Aid Self Service.

  4. Search for Outside Scholarships

    Outside Scholarships are a great resource to help you pay your balance. Check with your high school, congregation, your parent(s)’ employer(s), community organizations, and online for scholarship opportunities.


View and Understand Your Financial Aid Offer

After you receive your financial aid offer, review the information below. (Please refer to your admission letter to know when you can expect to receive your offer.)

  1. View Your Financial Aid Offer

    Available online through the MyCLU Portal. Make sure to Accept and/or Decline offer items and complete the loan process if you plan to borrow loans.

  2. Understand Your Offer

    Learn more about the various types of financial aid, including scholarships, grants and loans.

  3. Estimate Your Balance

    Understand your total costs, the financial aid offered to help cover those costs, and any remaining balance due to Cal Lutheran after your aid is applied. You can also preview your monthly payments if you choose to enroll in the Monthly Payment Plan.
